2007 was another safe and successful hunting season in the Mackenzie Mountains of the NWT.  As you can see from
the photos on the website, we took some mighty fine trophies again this year.  The summer featured a typical mix of Mackenzie
Mountain weather.  Many fine days of high pressure sun, interspersed with short rain showers.  The fourth hunt had a few days of
fog, which cropped up again in September.  It is rare in this country to lose more than a couple of days to poor weather.

We maintained the average on the 24 rams harvested at ten years, suggesting that there are plenty of old mature rams in our area.
The average horn length was 37 inches, despite the fact that we took many heavy, broomed rams.  Our average horn base was 13
inches.

We took plenty of the huge caribou the Gana is known for, and even had four 400 inch+ bulls in camp at one time.  The largest
caribou grossed 419 inches.  On our September moose hunts, the weather cooperated and allowed us to take 7 bulls, including a
68 1/2 inch bull that repeat client Duane Corley harvested.
We were pleased to see many familiar faces
back in camp, and met some fine new hunters
as well.  Our experienced crew did a great
job.  I would like to extend a special thanks
to pilot Bill Gourlie and my brother Adam
Grinde for always going the extra mile.
