We had a great season again this year despite the less than favourable weather. The summer was very wet and
foggy, but everyone on our great crew worked extra hard to make the best of the less than ideal conditions. We
had several last minute cancellations, so the number of hunters was down a bit.
We took lots of really great old rams this year, maybe in part due to the bad weather moving them out of their
hiding spots. Of our 20 sheep hunters this year, 17 took rams despite the challenges with the weather.
The rams averaged 11 years old this season, and the average horn length was an incredible 38 inches despite
the fact that some of the rams were heavy and broomed back. The two archery hunters this year both took home
great rams.
The average on our Mountain Caribou was 380 B&C which is a lot of bone to hang on the wall. We only took four
moose hunters this year, and all were able to harvest good heavy horned mature bulls; the widest being a 62
incher. Other highlights of the season include Marissa Oaks 409 B&C caribou from Horse Pass guided by James
Zukiwski and 16 year old Cole Schneider's ten year old broomed ram. Bill Gourlie and Adam Grinde were once
again crucial to the operation. We were flattered by the number of repeat hunters we had, and happy to meet
some keen hunters up for the first time.
