Gana River Outfitters, NWT

Hunt Descriptions

To access our area most clients fly into Norman Wells NWT by jet via
Edmonton, Alberta.

In Norman Wells you will board a chartered float plane for the trip into the
Mackenzie Mountains.

After landing at Palmer Lake at our cozy base camp (electric lights, hot
showers) you will meet your guides and be given a chance to sort your
gear.

Some of our hunts take place right from base camp, but in many cases you
will ride or fly out to a spike camp.

Our area is huge and there are endless possibilities for terrain and good
game.

Horse camps typically have 1-2 guides and a cook/wrangler.  On
backpack hunts you will be carrying all your equipment and food for ten
days, so proper fitness and training is essential.

At the conclusion of your hunt you will arrive back in base camp for that
long awaited shower.  Your trophies will be packaged and you will fly by
float plane back to Norman Wells, to start the journey home.

Fine memories and photos of the north country will be with you for
the rest of your days!
